The highly acclaimed Chinese classical dance company Shen Yun Performing Arts will be performing in Hong Kong for the very first time in 2010.
The news was announced at a press conference in Hong Kong on Sunday.
The show, sponsored in part by NTDTV, will be presented at the Lyric Theatre at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. At least four performances are scheduled for the end of next January.
According to Shen Yun’s website, the New York-based company aims to revive the true, five-thousand-year-old artistic tradition of China—a tradition that has been mostly lost in modern China.
Director of Shen Yun Performing Arts Vina Lee promised an exquisite show for the Hong Kong public.
[Vina Lee, Director of Shen Yun Performing Arts]:
“Hong Kong is the glamorous Oriental Pearl. It is beautiful and prosperous. The people in Hong Kong are blessed with democracy, freedom, and the protection of law. We are delighted to have received the invitation to perform here. Shen Yun Performing Arts will present an exquisite and culturally profound performance to the people of Hong Kong.”
More information about Shen Yun and up-coming performances can be found on its website, www.shenyunperformingarts.org
