Taiwan Public Protests CCP Official’s Visit

(NTDTV)
A Chinese Communist Party official visiting Taiwan is drawing protestors wherever he goes.
Xu Guangchun arrived in Taiwan earlier this week to foster trade and economic exchange. Now the former Provincial Party Secretary of Henan Province has had to face people protesting his involvement in human rights abuses.
On Tuesday night, protestors waited for Xu outside the Taipei International Convention Center. They urged him to stop persecuting Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual practice with teachings based on truth, compassion and tolerance. But the Chinese Communist Party has been brutally persecuting adherents since 1999.
Xu is facing lawsuits in Taiwan and in the United States for crimes of torture and genocide.
On Wednesday morning, at the National Taiwan University, Xu was met by more protestors.
This student from the National Taiwan Normal University spoke for disadvantaged people in China.
[Student, National Taiwan Normal University]:
“In China, if you have power and force you are the law. Regardless of how much the public is being trampled upon, they have nowhere to seek redress. They’re in a very sad situation, many people are in a very pitiful state.”

Xu will return to China on Monday. More protests against his presence in Taiwan are expected.
