(NTDTV)
In China, another mining tragedy has left dozens dead. 26 people were killed when the brakes failed on two mine elevators on Thursday. The elevators plunged 200 feet down the shaft.
19 miners died immediately after the collapse, while seven others died during treatment. Five are alive but injured.
The incident occurred in a mine of Hsikwangshan Twinkling Star Antimony Co Ltd, in China’s central Hunan Province.
China’s mines are the deadliest in the world, due to lax safety standards and a rush to feed the demands of the economy.
