Heavy rainfall has lead to flooding and mudslides in southern China. Thousands have fled their homes.
Three days of torrential rain has soaked some of China’s southern provinces. The water level in the main rivers of Hunan Province have gone up to alarming levels, with over 11-thousand people forced to flee their homes.
In Jiangxi and Anhui provinces streets and crop fields were flooded while major reservoirs in the region have started overflowing.
Dozens of roads are damaged in Guizhou Province, with one blocked by a mudslide for eight hours. Mudslides also blocked a main road in one city in Chongqing city municipality.
Workers have been clearing up the Yangtze River to prevent the water level from rising.
Over one hundred people have been killed by floods in China since the rainy season began in April.
