China: Plague Quarantine Lifted in Ziketan

We reported last week that the town of Ziketan, in a remote region of China’s Qinghai province, was put under quarantine. It came after an outbreak of the pneumonic plague left 3 people dead and several others sick. The World Health Organization had expressed concern about the disease. But according to China’s state run Xinhua news agency, no new cases of the disease have been reported in a week—so the quarantine has been lifted.
