Chinese Human Rights Lawyer Zheng Enchong Detained and Tortured

(NTDTV)
Chinese human rights lawyer Zheng Enchong was detained and tortured by police in Shanghai last week.
According to human rights organizations, Zheng was detained on June 17 and subjected to beatings to his head and face, cigarette burns on his lips and eyelids, and a forced strip search.
Zheng is a Christian lawyer who has been on the forefront of taking human rights related cases in China, even as the Chinese Communist Party has attempted to crack down on such cases.
In 2003, Zheng filed a lawsuit against Zhou Zhengyi—the “richest man in Shanghai”—accusing him of colluding with local CCP officials to illegally confiscate people’s homes for development.
Zheng has been detained more than 60 times since then.
