Some 4, 000 people have been evacuated from the Spanish Canary Island of La Palma as fire crews battle to bring forest fires under control.
The Spanish air force is helping fire fighters on the ground to tackle the blaze which has raged since late on Friday night.
Strong winds have been fanning the flames which had destroyed about 30 homes by Sunday afternoon.
Several vineyards have also fallen victim.
The forest fires have struck at the height of the holiday season on the island whose economy depends on tourism.
On the Spanish mainland at least eight people have been killed by fires this summer as the country bakes in temperatures well over 30 Celsius.
More than 50 people have been arrested on suspicion of starting the fires.
