Uganda: First Baby Rhino Born since Two Decades

oaching killed the last of Ugandan rhinoceros two decades ago, but now there is hope for a new generation as a baby rhino has just been born in captivity.
Born at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the baby rhino is part of a breeding stock program to help re-introduce Rhinos to their natural habitat.
[Angie Genade, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary]:
“The last Rhinos in Uganda were poached in 1982, since then there have been no Rhinos in Uganda.”

The baby rhino was born of a male rhinoceros from Kenya and a female from the U.S. and is named Obama after the United States president.
