Western Spain: Deadly Fires

The Spanish town of Arenas de San Pedro is engulfed by raging wildfires.
They have already claimed the lives of at least two people here in Avila.
One of them was a 63 year old man.
He’d been trapped in his home and rescuers were unable to reach him.
The other was a man who was called in by the local government to help put out the flames.
As fire-fighters tackle the raging fires hundreds of people have been forced to flee the area.
Authorities say the blaze was started deliberately.
Plumes of smoke can be seen from the country’s capital, Madrid.
Wild-fires in Spain have destroyed hundreds of hectares of land.
Spanish authorities are on high alert across the country as the threat of wildfires looms.
